Marissa and Alex

It was a beautiful sunny day. I had the great pleasure of working as the second photographer to shoot the wedding of Marissa and Alex.  They were married at the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club.  Marissa and Alex opted not to see each other prior to the ceremony, so I had to be very careful about when and where I took pictures so as to respect their wishes.  On a lawn overlooking the 18th green, with a beautiful backdrop of the Cascade Mountians, Alex saw his beautiful bride for the first time, and he was all smiles.  After the ceremony, all of their guests enjoyed an evening of great food and dancing.

Kyle's Birthday

I want to give a belated birthday shout-out to Kyle Crocker.  Back in August, Kyle's mom asked me to take a couple of pictures of him for his birthday.  This is a tradition. For the last 14 years she has had a professional picture of Kyle taken, which she then puts into a keepsake album.  Kyle is a very handsome young man who has a great personality (watch out young ladies). It was a pleasure getting to know him.
P.S. His mom is a looker as well!

Lisa and Jason

I am so excited to share these pictures from Jason and Lisa's wedding.  Lisa and Jason were a great couple, very relaxed and full of fun.  The wedding took place on the bride's parent's property.  It is a beautiful place with lots of trees and great open space. A gentle sloped hill lead to a lovely little creek where the ceremony took place.  The bride and her bridesmaids all were escorted to the ceremony in a cool classic Ford truck.  After the ceremony the guests enjoyed great BBQ and dancing on a dance floor made especially the the Bride and Groom.

Baby Bryce and his Family

Sorry everyone for being gone for so long, I have been distracted by my other job.  I have had to immerse myself into getting ready to return to flying. I have to tell you that after nine months of not being at work, I needed every bit of allotted time to remember all the small details.  Now that my training is almost complete, I have some time to catch up on this blog, so expect to see more updates in the coming days.  Today I want to share some pictures of a family I did a session for a few weeks ago.  You may recognize two people from a couple of months back.  Sandy and her son were here at my studio previously for a maternity session. When baby Bryce was born she gave me a call to have some newborn portraits taken. We also captured some nice family portraits. Bryce was so sweet, and after a quick snack and a change of diapers, he was relaxed and ready to be the best baby model ever! 

Adler 2mo

I have to say I just love this little man! Every time I get to photograph him he just gets cuter.  I also have to take this time to thank his parents Josh and Annie they have been so generous with letting me use their little man a my main newborn subject, as well as being very supportive of my business endeavor.  Thanks again and I look forward to what we can come up with for Adler's 3month pictures!!!

The Karneys

What fun I had with this family.  I have known Kendra since high school, so when she contacted me about doing some family portraits, I was very excited. It was nice to see her and all of her siblings who were in town for the holiday.  I just love connecting with friends and seeing how their families have grown over the years.  Capturing these special moments for them was very rewarding.  Thanks Karrney family for letting me share your holiday.

The Cromwell's

I first met the Cromwell's through mutual friends almost five years ago.  Since then I have slowly been introduced to their extended family.  Last fall I took some portraits of Jeff and Whitney's children, Tanner and Lily.  We had a great time finding the perfect location at Lake Merdian Park.  So when Whitney asked if I could take some family portraits, I was excited to get the whole gang together.  This time we met at Flaming Geyser State Park where we found some really picturesque spots. Thank You Cromwell's for allowing me to capture some family memories for you!

Baby Adler

Meet baby Adler Atkins (AKA Jett)!!  I first documented this family's journey last Fall, when I took pictures of baby Adler's parents for their engagement. Later, I was granted the privilege of photographing his mother's maternity portraits.  Finally, when his parents asked me to shoot baby Adler's newborn portraits, I jumped at the opportunity. I had a great time, but I'm not sure Adler shared my enthusiasm. I'm pretty sure that he would have preferred that we not disturb him while he was sleeping.  He is a sweet little baby, and I can't wait to watch him grow and thrive.

Hard work does payoff.

Enter Tatum Fettig. She has worked for months to prepare for her fitness competition.  She was on a strict diet, and worked her butt off at the gym (literally)!  All the preparation paid off, because she came in first in her division and won for best poser. I was so excited when she asked me if I would document all her hard work with a photo session.  We had so much fun. She was up for anything, so it was a low-stress shoot and we got some great pictures.  She claims that this is a one time event and was eager to have photos to remember how all that hard work paid off.  I just hope that she ordered one hell of a pizza when it was all said and done!

A wish for summer .....

It has been a busy week around my house.  The kids are out of school and I have been taking pictures of some of the most amazing people, however the weather is not anything to brag about.  Here in the great pacific northwest it has been a struggle for summer to make an appearance.  So todays post is just me wishing that summer will come and when it does, take off it's jacket and stay for a while.

More Moms

Yesterday I had the privilege of photographing my friend Sandie and her son. She is entering the last weeks of her pregnancy, which was the perfect time to have some portraits taken. She looked beautiful!  Bradon was so cute and easy to work with (I think he loves the camera).  I am looking forward to meeting the new member of their family very soon.

Class of 2011

It is that time of year again, when the it is all the rage to wear a cap and gown.  Congratulations to all the 2011 graduates, and to all the parents and family members who helped support them. I am celebrating not only my son's preschool graduation, but also that of a dear family friend (who is graduating from my alma mater Central Washington University).  I am very lucky to have watched Rachel grow from a tiny, bald baby, to an intelligent, beautiful young woman.  I wish her the best as she moves into this next phase of her life.  Congrats Rachel!!!

Congrats!

I wanted to say congratulations to Josh and Annie Atkins, some of you might remember this lovely couple from a past post, they are celebrating the birth of their son Adler Atkins.  These photos were taken in the nick of time.  We had scheduled these pictures early because Annie knew that Adler was going to be early, how early was a surprise to everyone.  The pictures were taken on a Wednesday and on Thursday Annie sent me a text to let me know that Adler was on the way!! Less than 24 hours after this session baby Adler entered the world weighting only 3 lb and 12 oz. I am happy to report that both mom and baby are doing great, and Adler is getting bigger everyday. Thank you again Josh and Annie for letting me be a part of this exciting time in your lives.

ice ice baby...

My son is a funny kid.  He loves ice. I have never seen anyone love ice more than Aidan.  Seems he is always doing something with ice, wether it be eating it or playing with it.  I am always telling him to stop freezing odd things in the freezer, and to keep the ice in his cup.  No surprise, during our first Seattle Mariners game Aidan was excited to discover he could have a sweet icy treat.  What could be better than ice with syrup!!! YUM! He was in heaven.

Hello everyone, we have had a great week here in the Pacific Northwest.  The sun has been out for more than one day and the temperature has been in the upper 60's.  That means that I have been busy in the yard getting ready for the summer.  I finally got the garden planted, and I don't feel like it will get so cold that everything will die.  I have also been busy taking pictures of most adorable cousins ever.  Todays picture is just a sample of our session.  They were busy and kept me on my toes the whole time.  Enjoy and have a great weekend.

The Caldwells

Here is another great family that was at May Memories.  I had a great time trying to get every all eyes looking at me for the shots.  It did not happen in all the pictures but I was able to get a couple of good ones.  There was just to much distraction for the pups!

The Raymond Family

Today I am posting a sample of the Raymond family session.  I have photographed the Raymond kids before and was not able to get Colin to smile.  During May Memories I got lucky and he gave me a huge smile!!  The rest of the family did pretty good as well.

Previews!!
